Grace Bros Holdings

Archival Resources
Founded in 1885, the company grew into one of Australia’s major retailers with stores throughout Sydney and New South Wales and the A.C.T. The company also operates one of Australia’s largest removalist businesses with branches in all States and is entering into the travel and insurance business.
In 1978, the company successfully took over J. B. Young Holdings Limited, which operated a chain of 109 stores in N.S.W, Queensland and Victoria.
The company was taken over by Myer Emporium after successful takeover bids in 1983/84. Its retail stores still trade under the Grace Bros name as part of the Coles Myer Company, which subsequently acquired Myer Emporium.
