Brighton Gas Company Ltd (1877 - 1950) |

Formed in 1877 to bring gas to the Melbourne suburbs of Brighton and Elsternwick. 1887 saw the company amalgamate with the Central Brighton and Moorabbin Gas Company. In 1950 by an act of the Victorian Parliament the company amalgamated with the Metropolitan Gas Company to form the statutory authority the Gas and Fuel Corporation of Victoria. |
