R. Goldsbrough & Co (1855 - 1881)

Established as a wool selling business in Melbourne by Richard Goldsbrough in 1848. In 1853 Goldsbrough entered into a partnership with Edward Row and George Kirk, which traded as Row, Kirk & Co acquiring pastoral properties. In 1855 Goldsbrough decided to devote himself to the wool broking and formed a partnership with Hugh Parker, which traded as R Goldsbrough & Co.

In 1881, after a merger with Australian Agency & Banking Ltd, a limited liability firm was established under the name R Goldsbrough & Co Ltd. In 1888 this firm merged with Mort & Co, of Sydney to formed Goldsbrough Mort & Co
