Summary

Originally registered in England in 1909 to operate the then newly discovered oil resources in Persia as Anglo-Persian Oil Co Ltd. In June 1935 the company name was changed to Anglo-Iranian Oil Co Ltd to reflect the name change of the country from Persia to Iran.
