Summary
Born in Melbourne in 1912 Connellan started his working life as a teacher but his real interested were in aviation and the pastoral industry.
In 1936 he gained his pilot's licence. With the financial support of friends he was able to undertake two aerial surveys to assess the potential of aviation in the development of the Northern Territory. This resulted I the establishment by Connellan of the Survey and Inland Transport Company c1940.
